The first in my little venture through some fashion related pieces ^_^ I decided to do the chubby-chibi style for this fashion set cause it isn’t often I see that, and it wouldn’t really be very new or challenging to give Rarity thin human proportions like many real world fashion illustrations. Or a-at least thats what I thought for myself at least ^_^
So this is the Pelisse, a popular fashion in the early 19th century ^^ Dresses were often made out of silk or velvet, and lined with fur. The lack of pockets wound up requiring a little purse to be carried for incidentals ^^ (which is a plague even today xD)
I never studied fashion personally, but I bought a wonderful book called FASHION: A Visual History from Regency & Romance to Retro & Revolution by NJ Stevenson ^_^ so the fashion info comes directly from that book ^^
If you’re into fashion I highly recommend it
